So Weird!

Alright, a little side note... School has started and I'm totally loving it. The schedule and teaching has locked into place. Things have started to run smoothly. It's great!
Side note over... Ok. This past week or so I got a call from my dad saying that someone had called him from California saying that they had a pair of scriptures of mine. They had tracked down my dad and called him and got the address to send them up. So they arrived and they were infact, mine.
The plot thickens...

Back in the year 2000, I was fresh off my mission and wanted a new pair of scriptures. I had bought this new pair and got them embossed with my name on the front with a new carrier and everything. I threw them in my backpack and went to a park with a friend. On returning to the car I had discovered that my backpack (containing my school books, Oakley sunglasses, eye glasses, and brand new scriptures) had been stolen!

Which brings us back to the recent week afore mentioned... The scriptures that were in side my backpack that was stolen back in 2000 were once again in my possession. They still looked and smelled brand new too! They even still had my highlighting pencil and some of my papers that were from an assignment I had for a religion class. I was amazed!

So, now the question I pose is... "Why in the world did these people in California have my scriptures that were stolen 7 1/2 years ago from a car parked at a park in Provo Utah?" I'm planning on writing them back and seeing if they can help me piece this together. If anyone has any possible answers to my question, please feel free to help me out. So weird!

POND. I can tell you exactly what happened. Your scriptures were stolen as part of a heist to get food money for a few wayward criminals to be-fleeing the state. With nothing more to do on the long drive through the desert the would-be theives pull open your book... stricken with guilt they leave the stolen car, safe, money and back pack in the first park they come to, in California IA. ironic, but we're not done, When the car was left, before the police found it, a runaway who was trying to find herself found your book instead, and somehow, in a journey that is much too long to write in a comment, ultimately found herself within your book of the mormons. She was baptized, along with everyone she knew, (she's a stalwart and powerful missionary) and years later she decided it was time to give back the blessings that were so freely given to her, so she left the book on the porch of the people she had been staying with, and she walked off into the sunset, (with her own brand new set, jingling in her backpak) and they opened it, saw a name, a number, and being good people that they were, called, to return it. Treasure like this, should not be lost.
